Interviewer (Smack) : Lets meet you

Artiste (Floeazy) : I go by the name Floeazy the one and only

Interviewer (Smack) : How did you get into music

Artiste (Floeazy) : I have always been a music fan right from time but I started music professionally in 2016 so I am still fresh….(Laughs) I dropped my first official single then produced by Skillybeat, a Ghanaian producer.

Interviewer (Smack) : Were you raised in Lagos?

Artiste (Floeazy) : Yes, I was raised in Lagos, shout out to all my Alimosho people, Iyana Ipaja, Igando, Ikotun, these are my hood, where it all started from.

Interviewer (Smack) : Tell us about your family background?

Artiste (Floeazy) : I am mixed; my dad is Ghanaian while my mom is from Calabar, Cross River state, Nigeria.

Interviewer (Smack) : What inspires you to write a song?

Artiste (Floeazy) : Well…my inspiration is the beat, once I listen to a good beat…I flow and that was how I got my name FLOEAZY, I was in the studio with a producer that day and he was playing a beat, immediately I jumped on the beat he screamed “Chaleh, you dey flow ooo, see as you dey flow easy on my beat without stress” that was how they started calling me Floeazy…(Laughing out loud)

Interviewer (Smack) : With your Ghanaian and Nigerian influences, what genre of music do you do?

Artiste (Floeazy) : I try to blend sounds from both places together so I call it Afro-pop…

Interviewer (Smack) : How do you intend to break into the market with the level of competition in both the Nigerian and Ghanaian music industry today?

Artiste (Floeazy) : I must admit that it’s not easy to break through, that’s why I must give kudos to my management because they are really working hard to ensure that I break into the market, as I speak to you I’m in Ghana pushing my music across borders since both Ghana and Nigeria are both my homes.

Interviewer (Smack) : What are the challenges you are facing as an artiste?

Artiste (Floeazy) : As an independent artiste, finance has always been my greatest challenge, putting out songs, shooting videos, promotions, travelling,  all these require money but shout out to my management for keeping my brand alive in spite of challenges we are still here pushing.

Interviewer (Smack) : Has Lagos influence your kind of music?

Artiste (Floeazy) : Yes….because there lots of great artistes in Lagos as well has producers so inspiration is everywhere in Lagos and I have also worked with producers in Lagos like M Trill  who taught me a lot of things too, so for Lagos omo forget we dey there nothing dey shele…(laughs)

Interviewer (Smack) : What do you like about Lagos as a place?

Artiste (Floeazy) : Wao….. Lagos is fun, so many places to hang out and have fun, the traffic hold up in Iyana Ipaja, lekki traffic too when you are on the Island, it’s all good, it makes you strong, Lagos is a place to be, you meet a lot of people who will influence you either good or bad, you just have to shine your eyes like they always say in Lagos, “Eko oni baje oooo”(Speaking Yoruba Language)

Interviewer (Smack) : What is your favorite Nigerian dish?

Artiste (Floeazy) : Definitely food from my mom’s place, Afang soup, Edika ikong and the likes (Laughing out loud)

Interviewer (Smack) : Floeazy, lets settle this now, Ghanaian Jollof or Nigerian Jollof, which do you prefer?

Artiste (Floeazy) : Aaah…Omo, lets do it like this, if I say Ghanaian Jollof, my Nigerian people will kill me and if I say Nigerian Jollof, my Ghanaian people will slay me..(Laughing) all I can say now is that I have tasted both and they are both very nice

Interviewer (Smack) : Do you prefer to perform live on stage or you like miming your songs?

Artiste (Floeazy) : I do both because I believe that as an artiste one needs to be able to do both effectively because different shows  warrants different approach, some might demand live and some might demand miming.

Interviewer ( Smack ) : What is the most played song on your phone?

Artiste ( Floeazy ) : Definitely my new song titled Black and Beautiful, I listen to it all day and I can’t wait to drop it

Interviewer ( Smack ) : What else are you working on presently apart from this new song coming up soon?

Artiste ( Floeazy ) : I recently drop a song titled IDOGO, you need to go check it out and earlier this year I dropped the video to one of my songs HALIMA so you guys should go and check it out on Youtube,

Interviewer ( Smack ) : It was nice speaking with you Floeazy.

Artiste ( Floeazy ) : Thanks so much for having me, I really appreciate, it shows that people are beginning to notice the work we putting in and I will jump by the studio whenever I’m back to Lagos, don’t worry I will bring Banku ( A Ghanian delicacy) just keep Eba for me( Laughing out Loud)
