From composing songs for his parents’ theatre productions in Nigeria to producing his own tracks on GarageBand during the pandemic, DAVEED! has always been immersed in sound. But what sets him apart is his mission. Unlike many, he isn’t just chasing charts—he’s leading a movement.

His EP, THE DUSK, explores themes like regret, identity, and truth. Tracks like “HOLLOW” and “DAPO AND THE MASK” confront societal flaws and personal battles, blending African rhythms with cinematic production. These songs introduce The Evolution—a cultural shift for Nigerian music and mindset.

DAVEED! is discontent with the repetition and hypersexualisation in Nigerian music. He believes the industry needs more than catchy hooks—it needs soul, message, and responsibility.

“I make music to fuel and spark the evolution of our minds, our communities, and our nation,” he shares.

Influenced by artists like Lura, Richard Bona, Willow Smith, and the depth of gospel legend Andrae Crouch, his sound is rich and intentional. He calls it AFREESION, a global fusion anchored in African heritage.

Lagos shaped DAVEED!’s worldview. From its cultural vibrance to its political flaws, the city’s energy pulses through his lyrics. Collaborating with local creatives like TheKidFuzzy and Ayomikun has grounded his sound in real Nigerian experiences.

“My lyrics reflect Lagos life, intentionally woven with Pidgin and Yoruba,” he explains.

This authenticity is why his message resonates—because it’s real, raw, and rooted in his reality.
